Writing the monthly investment commentaries and related publications involves understanding the firm’s investment strategies and vehicles, interviewing portfolio managers and obtaining their approval of the finished product. It also requires analytical skills, speed and accuracy. Work with channel managers—institutional, broker-dealer and RIA—to develop product information and sales support materials. This may include educational guides, product brochures, market updates, client letters and white papers. An experienced marketing writer and innovative thinker would ensure success. Many materials will be published in print and on the firm’s Web site. There will also be content developed expressly for the Web site; thus, knowledge of the Web’s strengths and limitations is helpful.
